Overview

Remote Execution allows you to run automated web and mobile tests on Testinium Suite infrastructure directly from your own test framework, development environment, or CI/CD pipeline. The test will be triggered locally and executed in Testinium Suite.

Instead of creating and maintaining the execution flow inside a Testinium Suite project, you can connect your existing Selenium or Appium code to the Testinium Suite remote hub. Testinium Suite provides the browser or mobile device environment, executes the test, and collects the selected test artifacts.

Remote Execution is suitable when you want to:

Continue using your existing automation framework and source code.

Execute tests on different browsers, operating systems, and browser versions.

Run mobile tests on Android or iOS devices.

Trigger executions from a local development environment or CI/CD pipeline.

Collect screenshots and video recordings during an execution.

Accessing Remote Execution

From the left navigation menu, select Remote Execution.

The Remote Execution page contains two tabs:

Execution Results: Displays executions submitted through Remote Execution.

Test Code Generator: Generates sample connection code and capabilities for the selected test environment.

Generating Remote Execution Code

The Test Code Generator helps you prepare the configuration required to connect your automation code to Testinium Suite.

1. Select a platform

Select the type of test you want to execute:

Platform	Description
Web	Executes a browser-based test on a desktop operating system.
Android App	Executes a native or hybrid Android application test.
Android Web	Executes a mobile browser test on an Android device.
iOS App	Executes a native or hybrid iOS application test.
iOS Web	Executes a mobile browser test on an iOS device.

The remaining configuration options are updated according to the selected platform.

2. Select the execution environment

For web executions, select the required:

Operating system

Browser

Browser version

The available operating systems, browsers, and versions depend on the environments currently provided by your Testinium Suite account.

For mobile executions, select the available device and platform options presented by the Test Code Generator.

3. Configure execution artifacts

Depending on the selected platform, you can enable additional execution options such as:

Take Screenshot: Captures screenshots during the execution.

Record Video: Records the test session.

Screen Resolution: Defines the desktop resolution used for a web execution.

Selected options are automatically added to the generated capabilities.

4. Select a programming language

The Test Code Generator provides examples for the following programming languages:

Java

Python

Ruby

Node.js

Select the language that matches your automation framework.

5. Copy the generated code

The generated example includes:

The Testinium Suite remote hub address

Authentication parameters

Platform and browser capabilities

Selected screenshot and video options

A remote driver initialization example

Use the copy icon in the upper-right corner of the code area to copy the generated example.

You can then add the relevant connection and capability configuration to your existing automation project.

Running a Test

After adding the generated configuration to your project:

Add the required Selenium or Appium client libraries to your project.

Replace or configure your local driver initialization with the generated remote driver configuration.

Keep the generated platform capabilities or extend them according to your test requirements.

Run the test from your IDE, command line, automation framework, or CI/CD pipeline.

Open the Execution Results tab in Testinium Suite to review the submitted execution.

A simplified Selenium example follows this structure:

The exact capability names and values should be copied from the Test Code Generator because they may differ depending on the selected platform and environment.

Execution Results

Executions started through the remote hub can be reviewed from the Execution Results tab.

The artifacts available for an execution depend on the options enabled before the test started. For example, a video will only be available when Record Video was enabled in the execution capabilities.

Updating the Execution Environment

You do not need to manually rewrite the entire configuration when you want to use a different environment.

Return to the Test Code Generator, select the new operating system, browser, version, device, or platform, and copy the updated capabilities into your automation project.

This makes it possible to reuse the same test logic across different execution environments.

Security Recommendations

The generated code may contain account-specific credentials or access keys required to connect to the Testinium Suite remote hub.

To protect your account:

Do not share generated credentials in screenshots, emails, or public documentation.

Do not commit credentials directly to a source-code repository.

Store credentials in environment variables, a CI/CD secret store, or another secure credential-management system.

Restrict access to execution credentials to authorized users and systems.

Replace or revoke credentials if you believe they have been exposed.
