Use this method when you already know a device serial and need its current details.

This is useful immediately before creating an allocation or when checking whether a stored serial is still visible to the current credentials.

## Before You Begin

Get the serial from [List Devices](docId\:T2lFRSsG2mhohPOA4K26-) or from your own device configuration.

## SDK Method

| Java                           | Node.js                              | .NET                                    |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------- |
| `client.devices().get(serial)` | `await client.devices().get(serial)` | `await client.Devices.GetAsync(serial)` |

## Parameter

| Parameter | Required | Description                           |
| --------- | -------- | ------------------------------------- |
| `serial`  | Yes      | Exact serial returned by List Devices |

The serial is passed as the method argument and encoded by the Node.js SDK before the request is sent. There is no request body. Authentication headers are managed by the SDK client.

## Examples

:::CodeblockTabs
```java
Device device = client.devices().get("R58M123456A");
System.out.println(device.marketName());
System.out.println(device.state());
System.out.println(device.isSimulator());
System.out.println(device.isPublic());
```

```typescript
const device = await client.devices().get("R58M123456A");
console.log(device.marketName, device.state, device.isSimulator, device.isPublic);
```

```csharp
var device = await client.Devices.GetAsync("R58M123456A");
Console.WriteLine($"{device.MarketName} {device.State} {device.IsSimulator} {device.IsPublic}");
```
:::

## Result

Returns one `Device`.

| `version`         | string  | Yes      | Additional server-provided version                                                 |
| `state`           | string  | Yes      | Current Device Park state; see [Device State Values](docId\:T2lFRSsG2mhohPOA4K26-) |
| `isSimulator`     | boolean | Yes      | Simulator indicator                                                                |
| `isPublic`        | boolean | Yes      | Public visibility indicator                                                        |

```json
{
  "id": 19027,
  "serial": "7TCASGP78XC6C64X",
  "marketName": "Redmi 13T Pro",
  "model": "23078PND5G",
  "manufacturer": "Xiaomi",
  "platform": "android",
  "platformVersion": "15",
  "version": "1.9",
  "state": "HEALTHY",
  "isSimulator": false,
  "isPublic": false
}
```

`isSimulator` and `isPublic` can be `null` when the server does not provide the value.

A device being visible does not automatically reserve it. Create an allocation before starting a test session.

If the serial does not exist or is not visible to the credentials, the SDK reports the Device Park response as an error.
